DTG Printing
DTG printers are bigger versions of your desktop inkjet printer with specially formulated pigment inks which contain a fusing agent, so when the design has been printed and heat pressed on the garments, the fusing agent enables the inks to permanently adhere to the fibres of the fabric. The outcome is a high quality, vibrant coloured print that is extremely durable and long lasting. So if you are worried about instant fading of your design, fear no more, as the inks have been developed and vigorously tested to prevent such problems occurring.
Discharge Printing
The process of printing onto dark garments using digital DTG techology may not be of a high enough quality for commercial use. For this reason we do not offer underbase printing.
We can offer an alternative to underbase printing called discharge printing.
We are currently the only company in the UK to offer this process and the only company within Europe to have mastered the process.
Discharge printing is a process by which a special none-toxic chemical agent is applied to the garment through a screen. The discharge agent removes all dye from the garment within the screened area leaving a natural light surface which we are then able to print onto.
The most effective usage of this is to overprint the artwork so that the artwork overlaps the discharged canvas and the discharged edges are not showing. The ink bleeds into the black fabric leaving no visible trace outisde the discharge canvas.
As with regular CMYK printing, all white areas within the artwork are ignored by our printers, simply using the light discharged area to replace any white within the artwork.
The only real limitations to discharge printing is are working with shapes. Due to the problems we may experience with the alignment of artworks onto the discharged area we cannot discharge shapes. The discharged area must be a straigh edged shape such as a square or rectangle.
We offer three standard sizes for the discharge canvas. However, we can have a screen made up to match your artwork at an additional cost if required.
